Kensington is an at-grade train station on the Blue Line of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) rail system that serves a central part of DeKalb County, Georgia. It has one island platform with 1 track on each side. This station opened on June 26, 1993.
Kensington is mainly a Park&Ride train station for commuters who take advantage of the 1,946 parking spaces available on site and ride into Atlanta. Long-term parking is available and is compensated at a flat rate fare per day. This station mainly serves Decatur's unincorporated communities; as well as communities in Stone Mountain-Tucker.
Bus Service is provide at this station to: Dekalb County Sheriffs Headquarters and Jail, The City of Stone Mountain, Georgia Piedmont Technical College (Formerly known as Dekalb Technical College), Georgia Department of Labor, GRTA/Panola Park&Ride, Memorial Drive Park&Ride, and Dekalb Lou Walker Senior Center.
