in the 15th arrondissements.
The station was opened on 13 July 1913 as part of the original

La Motte-Picquet - Grenelle and Porte d'Auteuil, including
Beaugrenelle was transferred to line 10.
The station was named Beaugrenelle station, after

"Beaugrenelle" (beautiful Grenelle) was a name given by property
developers in the district of Grenelle during its urbanisation.
In 1945, it was renamed after Charles Michels (1903–1941), who
was elected as a Communist Député of the 15th arrondissement
of Paris, who was shot by the Nazis as a hostage.
