Castle Frank is a station on the Bloor-Danforth line. It is located at 600 Bloor Street East at Castle Frank Road, near the former location of Viaduct streetcar loop, which was the longtime terminus of the Parliament streetcar. It is located in a purely residential area and serves Rosedale and a School across the street. The Bloor Street Viaduct which spans the Don Valley and connects Greek Town to Mid Town is a short walk east of the Station. Transfers can be made at this station to a bus (#65) that serves Parliament Street & the Cabbage Town area. The Station is at the present time under construction to make it fully accessable, with scheduled completion in the Fall of 2010.
Castle Frank Station was opened in 1966.This station is named after the community that it serves. Its streets, and the brook that flows through it, are in turn named after Sir John Graves Simcoe's summer residence in that area overlooking the Don River, which burned down in 1829. The residence was ultimately named after Francis (Frank) Simcoe, the founder's son.
