Blackhorse Road station is a London Overground and
London Underground station in Walthamstow, London, England.
The station is on the Victoria line and the
London Overground Gospel Oak to Barking Line, in Travelcard Zone 3
Is the least used station on the Victoria line with 6.179 million passengers per year.
The station originally opened on 19 July 1894, and was situated east of
Blackhorse Lane; the present tube station opened on 1 September 1968, having
been built west of the road to accommodate the newly-built Victoria line.
At first, the two stations existed separately side by side; Victoria Line tube maps
showed no interchange at the station, and it is only in comparatively recent years
that in-barrier interchange has been provided
